Making a Bequest to FPCRO

Like many who have given to your church over the years, you have probably been nourished and supported by being a part of your church community. It is a privilege to give back to the church that has been such a big part of family life. Bequest gifts have the power to impact future generations in the same way. It is so easy to include your church in your will and still provide for loved ones. You may be able to make a simple bequest by adding the following language: “I give and bequeath the sum of $ __ (or the % of), to be used for the general program of First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, in Royal Oak, Michigan, USA.”

A will is unique and must be structured to fit the needs and estate plans of each individual in accordance with the laws of the state in which they live. For this reason, you should consult a lawyer to assist you in drafting your will and estate plan. You can touch the future with your charitable bequest. You may also want to explore other estate planning options, such as designating the church as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or an IRA account.
