Your First Visit to FPCRO

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak! Here is some helpful information for your first visit:


9:00 am Service: The 9:00 am service is held in the Evans Chapel, indicated above.

 

Sixth Street Parking Lot Entrances: If entering by the left set of doors (see above), the Evans Chapel will be on your right. Turn right at the hallway about 30 feet after you enter. The entrance to Evans Chapel will be on your right soon after you turn down the hallway, before the doorway to the reception desk. If entering by the right set of doors, the reception desk will be on your left. Walk past the reception desk and turn left at the hallway. After turning left, the entrance to the Evans Chapel is an open entranceway on your left just past the doorway to the reception desk.

 

Hendrie St. Entrance: The entrance to Evans Chapel is about 100 feet down the hallway on your right. Walk past the Sanctuary on your left, then past the Religious Studies Library, Steen Library, and Pastor Rice’s study on your left. The entrance to Evans Chapel will be on your right, before the doorway to the reception desk.

 

10:30 am Service: The 10:30 am Service is held in our Sanctuary (indicated in red lettering in the right photo above) to the left of the Hendrie Street Entrance.


Sixth Street Parking Lot Entrances: If entering by the left set of doors, turn left at the hallway about 30 feet past the doors. The Sanctuary will be on your right. If entering by the right set of doors, walk past the reception desk on your left and turn left at the hallway. The Sanctuary is about 50 feet ahead on your right.


Hendrie Street Entrance: The Sanctuary is on your left immediately after entering.


Communion is usually served on the first Sunday of the month. All who have been baptized, including Catholics, Orthodox, and members of any Protestant denomination, are welcome at the Lord's Table!

 

Child care for infants and toddlers (1 and 2 year olds) is available for both the 9:00 and 10:30 services. Child care for preschoolers (3 and 4 year olds) is also available for the 10:30 service. For directions to our child care area, please check with the receptionist at our reception desk next to the Evans Chapel. For more information, visit our Sunday Morning Nursery and Preschool page.


Kindergarten through 8th grade Sunday School classes are at 10:30 AM. Senior highs either attend worship or have Breakfast Club at 10:30 AM on alternate Sundays. Adult Bible study is at 9:00 am. See our weekly worship bulletin for more information.


Please join us for coffee and fellowship after each service! After the 9:00 service, turn right after leaving Evans Chapel and take the stairs (immediately on your left) down to Kirkman Fellowship Hall. After the 10:30 service, turn left after leaving the Sanctuary. Kirkman Fellowship Hall will be down the stairs on your left about 50 feet down the hallway.


After the 10:30 Service, visitors are welcome to meet an FPCRO Ambassador. They are just outside the Sanctuary and will be wearing an Ambassador nametag and carrying an Ambassador sign. They will have a gift for you and will be glad to escort you to Kirkman Fellowship Hall or give you a tour of the church!


Large print bulletins are available from our ushers at the center aisle and each of the side aisles. Also check with our ushers or greeters if you would like to have a seat cushion.


Restrooms are in the reception area, also known as the Christian Education Lobby. Turn right from Evans Chapel or left from the Sanctuary and walk past the reception desk on your right and the stairs leading down to Kirkman Fellowship Hall on your left. The restrooms are up the stairs on your left.


Parking for the mobility impaired is available in the Sixth Street parking lot.
