Under the leadership of our LOFT (Living Our Faith Together) Ministry Team, our Youth Ministry advisors, and our Assistant Pastor, Pam Meilands, our Senior High Ministry encompasses fellowship activities, local and national mission activities, Bible study, music, and much more. On Sundays, senior highs either attend 10:30 worship or begin in worship and then meet for breakfast and Bible study in the Loft part way through the service. The Senior Highs also meet in the Loft on Sundays from 4:00 to 5:40 for bible study and fellowship.

Throughout the year, senior highs participate in family mission days at local community service organizations including World Medical Relief and Cass Community Services in Detroit. On Youth Sunday in May, the senior highs lead worship, including messages given by our seniors on their time at FPCRO.

Summers bring a national mission trip, supported by fundraising activities throughout the year including bake sales, the Ash Wednesday soup dinner, and the Super Bowl sub sandwich sale.

There are also opportunities for the senior highs, together with our mid-highs, to meet for youth choir. These rehearsals are scheduled by the music staff on an “as needed” basis for the 3-4 weeks before each anthem is sung during worship.

For more information about our Senior High Ministry, please contact Pastor Pam Meilands.
